Join me, William Carroll, on a compelling journey through season two of Faith Walk, where we navigate the rich tapestry of biblical truths and their tangible impact on our modern spiritual lives. Beginning with the "Walk of Faith," I reveal how personal encounters with miracles have profoundly shaped my response to the Holy Spirit's promptings. We'll delve into the legacy of Nimrod, a figure often glossed over, unlocking the depths of scripture by examining the original languages and their nuanced meanings.

As we traverse the landscapes of faith, we encounter Abraham's profound trust in God, an unwavering faith that ultimately foreshadows the gift of Jesus Christ, our sacrificial Lamb. This poignant tale not only showcases Abraham's obedience but also invites us to acknowledge the presence of divine provision in our everyday lives. Moreover, the season casts light on the eternal significance of investing in ministry—be it through finances, time, or simply by sharing the word. Come, let us welcome God's wonders into every aspect of our existence and discover the eternal rewards that await those who sow with a generous spirit.

Speaker 1:

Good morning, welcome to Faith Walk with William Carroll. I'm your host and on Faith Walk we've been talking about my walk in the Lord to try to encourage you to take God out of the box. See, religion puts God in the box. Relationship takes him out. See, god wants to use you to go to all the world, to go to your workplace, to go to your church, to. He wants people to see Jesus in you. Why? Because Jesus is not here. Jesus is not here.

Speaker 1:

Listen, I've seen signs, wonders and miracles happening. Because I had faith and when I felt that the Lord was leading me to go do something, whether it was to go to pray for somebody, whether it was to go to share a word with him, I got off my duff and I went, and I did it. I stepped out in faith. That's what God wants. God wants you to step out in faith and go. Listen, this is season two and this is gonna be episode one in season two, and I'm excited about this season. I'm excited to see what God wants to do and what God wants to say, how he wants to stir you up. See, god is no respecter of person and what he's done for me, he will do for you. What he's done through me, he will do through you If you are willing to step out in faith, if you're willing to believe that he is and he is a water of those who diligently seek him. Now, dear season just ended and now it's muzzle season here in Texas.

Speaker 1:

And I wanna tell you back in my younger days, you know, I spent a lot of time in the deer stand. A lot of time in the deer stand, and I would go from daylight till dark. I'd wait all day long. I wouldn't get out of that stand for anything and I would just sit in the stand and I'd take my Bible with me and I would begin to read and I would begin to pray and I would begin to just seek God's face. It was a great time for me to learn of the Lord, to learn of his word. And then, during one of those hunts, I was sitting there and I, you know, it had been all day long and it was getting close. It was really getting pretty close to dark actually, and I had been reading in Genesis. I'd been reading in Genesis, chapter 10. Genesis, chapter 10.

Speaker 1:

And that's where I wanna start off today Genesis, chapter 10,. If you got your Bible. Go there, let's go there and look at the word man. That's what we need. That's what we're here for. I'm here to encourage you, I'm here to lift you up. I'm here to point you to the great God that I serve. You know, and I serve him and I love him, and I tell you what he can do more than we ask, think or pray, if we just believe. By faith in him, he wants to prove himself as God in the world today and in your life. All right, so listen. Genesis, chapter 10.

Speaker 1:

We're gonna start in verse eight. It says in Cush begat Nimrod, and he began to be a mighty one in the earth, and he was a mighty hunter before the Lord, wherefore it is said even as Nimrod, the mighty hunter before the Lord. All right, now listen, that's the King James Version. I wanna jump over here and I wanna show you a little bit of a NLT Now. I like the NLT, sometimes because of the way it can open it up, but always check it with the King James Version, and this is why I'm gonna show you why you need to check. You need to check whatever version you're reading. You need to check whether it's NIV, nlt. Whatever it is, you need to check it and you need to go back and you need to look at it in the King James and if you don't like the King James, hey, okay, go get you a strong coordinates.

Speaker 1:

Look up the Greek word for the words that are in that text. All right, and that's what I did. I looked up the word. So in what it says is in verse nine. It says he was a mighty hunter before the Lord, wherefore it is said even as an emerald, the mighty hunter before the Lord, king James. I looked it up in the Greek and it says before the Lord, lord, there, jehovah, jehovah is Lord, it is I am. It's who God revealed himself to to Moses. All right, now, listen. Name the NLT, listen to this, listen ready, here we go.

Speaker 1:

Since he was the greatest hunter in the world, his name became proverbial. He became a proverb that people would say, people would say this man is like Nimrod, the greatest hunter in the world. Well, that's not what it says in the Greek. In the Greek, out of the out of that, when they translated it, you go look up Greek. You look up. It says before the Lord, not before the world. And and there it is. It is Jehovah, self-assistance, eternal Jehovah, the Jewish name of God, jehovah, the Lord. So see, it's okay to use these other versions, these other translations. Usually the translation is a translation of translation. They take the translation. They don't translate it from the original script, the original scrolls, but they translate it off of a translation Because you know they're wiser than it was translated in the King James.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, I'm not gonna get on that horse today, but I just want to tell you, I want to warn you, I want to tell you, check yourself, check yourself and look. It doesn't say he was the greatest hunter in the world. It said he was a great hunter in the Lord, meaning that he had a relationship with God and he looked to God for his provision. Alright, so, so anyway, we're gonna jump on over here. And I was.

Speaker 1:

I was hunting that day and it was getting evening, it was getting man. Actually it was getting too dark to read my Bible and I was sitting up in my stand. It was a tree stand too up in the tree. I had a. You know, it was built with plywood and all. It wasn't very comfortable, but I sit there and I said, whoa, I couldn't read no more, and it was getting dark it was getting, it was almost 30 minutes after sunset. So I said, I said Lord, I said listen, lord, if today is the day and you're gonna provide me a deer, like you provided Nimrod I said I want to be a great hunter in the Lord, I want to, I want to reach out and I want to, I want you to provide me a deer for my family to eat for the next year and, lord, I ask you to guide the bullet and make it a swift and a quick kill so that I don't have to lose the meat and I don't have to chase the deer Father.

Speaker 1:

I think you provided this deer, father, but if it's gonna be today, if out, lord, you need to hurry up because it's almost time, it's almost too dark. And I put down my Bible and I, you know, I kind of picked up my gun and I looked out across the old patch we had. We had ryegrass and oats planted and I looked across the patch and I saw something move and I saw something that was kind of, you know, white and I looked and I got my scope and it was right off of the woods. We're right there at the end of that patch, so it was kind of in the woods, which made it a little bit darker, and I saw something white. Well, when I put my scope on it, well, it was a buck. And then I saw something move behind it. So I scoped in. Well, the buck in the front had kind of light colored horns and it was a good buck, I mean it was, it was an eight point, it was a. It was a nice buck, all right. But the one that I saw behind it was a buck, and it was an eight point. It had dark horns. It was a bigger buck, an older buck, I think it ended up being a nine point.

Speaker 1:

So I said, lord, thank you God, this bullet, let it be a Swiss Diff's patch, lord, and I thank you that you've provided, you are Jehovah's hour, you are my provider and you have provided me meat for my family. And I squeezed the trigger and boom, that door, that deer went down. Well, as soon as it went down, I you know the other one was gone. Well, I racked one in and I go oh, I bet that other one comes back. So I had my rifle ready. Well, the other one come out of the woods and was stomping its feet and hissing and snorting at this other buck, trying to get him up, and I I leveled my rifle at it and I started to pull the trigger and I said, lord, thank you for buying me a second deer. And then I felt a check in my heart because I knew, with my small family at that time, we would not have eaten two deer. Why take more than what we're going to eat? And I said, lord, thank you, I praise you, I thank you for that buck, lord, but I'm going to let him go because you have provided what I needed for my family. You know, that would have been a great story to tell somebody how the Lord provided me two bucks. Well, he did provide me two bucks, but I let the other one walk and, man, this buck that I got was a nice buck. It was a nice buck. Well, at that time, you know and I just worship God, I just thanked him all the way. I told everybody you know about how the Lord provided me a buck.

Speaker 1:

Well, the next day had to go to work and I was working at Kilgore fire department. I was working on wood lawn over there. I was at station To and I came in in the morning and the ship that was going off, you know, would always stay and have coffee with the shift that was coming on and we would tell them what would have been going on or what had happened or what needed to be done, and we just visit with each other. And that morning I come in. I was fired up. Man, I was fired up. I said, hey, y'all, I need to tell you a story. I need to tell you a story about how God Provided me a deer yesterday.

Speaker 1:

I was up in the stand all day long and he got dark and I was telling them the whole story and I told him about Shut, my Bible, you know, I couldn't read it anymore and then picking up my rifle and seeing the one and shooting it and then the other one coming up and I said, listen, my God is my provider. I said, listen, he'll provide more than we ask our thing. I said I asked Lord for one buck. He provided two bucks and I said, I said, man, I said, but they said, so, did you get to? I said no, I let it go. I let the second one go because I knew that my family would not eat too and it would go to waste. So I let the second one go free.

Speaker 1:

And you know, and they were sitting there and, and I believe, jerry and Jerry, my friend, jerry Eastman he was, he was either a captain or he was the driver on the other shift at that time I'm not for sure which one it was at that time and he was sitting there drinking coffee, you know, on the shelf, going off, and and he said, well, william, he said I too was hunting and I too was praying to the Lord. I said, lord, if today's today give me a buck, and I said, really, what happened, jerry? And he said he said the Lord said, jerry, hold the phone. Williams, on the other line, and he said so, I didn't get a buck, you got yours. And mine showed up there Because he put me on hold, dancing your call, and, and I just rejoiced in that, and Jerry is a he's a lover of God man, he's a man of God, you know, and he's always been just a rock, you know. And I tell you what it was. It was a time of rejoicing and time of fun. But listen, I really believe, I really know that God provided, that God provided that for us.

Speaker 1:

Now, listen, I want to tell you something in Genesis, chapter 22. It's the story about Abraham. God had told Abraham to offer up his son, isaac, as an, as a sacrifice unto him, and Abraham had took him to Mount Moriah and all the way up he was speaking faith he's, he told them in. He said you stay here, me and the boy will go up and offer sacrifice and we shall return that faith. That's faith. He knew that God had told him offer up his son as the sacrifice. He tied his son on the altar. He took the, the wood for the burnt offering. He tied his son on his offering. He says Lord, who's, who's the offering? He said the Lord will provide an offering. And he got his knife in his hand and he pulled it back and he was fixing to kill his son and offer him unto God. And that was the love of his life, right there.

Speaker 1:

That son was a son that was born when Abraham was old, when Abraham his body was dead. But God quickened his body and quickened the body of his wife, of Sarah, so that they might have the son Isaac. And he promised Abraham that in Isaac shall your seed be, in other words, nations. And he said look up at the sky, the stars of the sky. That's how your seed will be through Isaac. Well, anyway, abraham's sitting there and he raises up the knife and he's fixing to plunge it into his son and God had to call out Abraham and Abraham. He, abraham, abraham, hold thy hand from thy son, for I have provided myself a sacrifice. And Abraham looked up and over there, a ram was caught in the bush. So Abraham sacrificed the ram unto God. But he was faithful because he was willing to do what God had told him to do, because Abraham, it tells us in the New Testament, believed that since Isaac was born out of the dead, out of his dead body, that God was able to raise Abraham from the dead if Abraham offered Isaac unto the Lord as a sacrifice.

Speaker 1:

But you know, abraham called that place at Mount Moriah. He called it Jehovah Jireh See. That is a revelation of God. He had a revelation of God in that place, mount Moriah. Jehovah Jireh, it says I have seen, I have seen and I have provided. I have seen your faith and I have provided. I am Jehovah Jireh See. God always revealed himself as I am, and he revealed himself in this place as Jehovah Jireh. Jireh means I am your provision, I have seen and I have provided your provision. Well, god provided the provision for my dear that day. God provided a ram for Abraham that day. All right, god has provided us a sacrifice, and that's Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the earth. That's what the word of God says. The word of God is true.

Speaker 1:

So I want to jump over to John, right quick. I want to jump to John, chapter eight. John chapter eight, the gospel of John, chapter eight, and we're going to go to verse. I believe it's 56. Yes, sir, 56. Okay, so well, I'm going to start in 65.

Speaker 1:

So Jesus is talking to the scribes and to the Pharisees and it says you know, they're telling Jesus in John 52, they say we know you're possessed by a demon. Even Abraham and the prophets died. But you say anyone who obeys my teaching, speaking of Jesus, will never die. Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are? Hmm, and Jesus answered and said if I want glory for myself, it doesn't count, but it is my father who will glorify me. You say he is your God, but you don't even know him. I know him. If I said otherwise, I would be a great liar, as you are, but I do know him and obey him.

Speaker 1:

Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and I was glad. And the people said you aren't even 50 years old, how can you say you've seen Abraham? And Jesus censor said I tell you the truth. Before Abraham was even born, I am See. People say Jesus never claimed to be God. Yes, he does. Yes, he did and yes, he did he came to be God. He said I am before Abraham was I am. Who was the who? Was the bush in the burning? Who was the flame in the burning? Bush with Moses? He said I am that I am. Who are you, lord? I am that I am All right. And he says I tell you the truth before Abraham was even born I am All right. So he also said he said in 56, it says your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it. He saw it and what's glad? And King James says your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it and was glad. And they asked him you're not even 50 years old yet. How did you see Abraham? He said well, from the foundation was I am. But listen at Mount Moriah. Mount Moriah.

Speaker 1:

A lot of the scholars believe that Mount Moriah has the same spot of Golgotha. It's the same spot or close to the spot of God God. How did Abraham see Jesus' day and the sacrifice? I believe he saw a vision of Jesus sacrificed on the cross. He saw the Lamb of God sacrificed on the cross. How did he see that? God allowed him to see that from that spot that he was at, that he was gonna offer his own son that his own son would have not done anything to pay for the price of the sin, but that God, sinning his own son in Jesus, would pay the price for sin? From that spot is either the spot of God God or at that spot, abraham saw the cross in a vision and he called it Jehovah's hour. For I have seen and I have provided. See, god had provided. That's how he saw the day of Jesus and he rejoiced in it. He rejoiced in it. See, by faith we can see the day of Jesus. We look back and we see on the cross that Christ died for us and paid the price for our sin, that he's our provider, not only in deer hunting, not only in work, not only in our.

Speaker 1:

Do you see your money? That God provided it for you. Your job? That God provided it for you. You need to. You need to start realizing who that is. You don't get it on yourself, it's by God. Listen, listen. If you have never seen Jesus and you've never believed him.

Speaker 1:

In Romans, chapter 10, 8, 9, romans, chapter 10, 8, 9 and 10, if you go back and read there, it says that if you believe with your heart, if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you confess him with your mouth, if you believe in Jesus in your heart and you confess him with your mouth by faith, are you saved. John Wesley taught by faith. Salvation comes by faith and faith alone. That's what John Wesley taught. And you say, well, I'm not a Methodist. Well, okay, well, john Wesley was a man of God, but he had a method to his rhyme and reason of studying and learning and witnessing and sharing.

Speaker 1:

I'm a Bathymethicothecostal. That's what I am. I'm all things to all people that I might win, some to the Lord, just like that's what Paul said. Listen, I'm glad to be back. I'm back with a fire, I'm back with a favor. I missed a couple of weeks because the sinuses and stuff was attacking my body and I just I couldn't even get on here, I couldn't hardly talk, I just I was spitting and sputtering. Well, I spit and sputter anyway, but listen, it's me, it's me, it's Willie C and I'm back. And if you know what, you know what that means if you listen to my podcast.

Speaker 1:

So let's do this together. Let's learn the signs, wonders and miracles of God. Let's step out in faith. Let's take God out of the box this year and let's put religion aside and let's start having a true relationship with Jesus Christ. Let's start walking with him, talking with him, and let's start going where he wants us to go. You see, you're the hands, the feet, the mouth and the ears of God.

Speaker 1:

Pray this prayer every day. Pray this prayer every day and it'll change your life, I promise you. I've been praying it for years and it has changed my life. Lord, open my eyes to see, as you see. Lord, open my ears to hear as you hear. Lord, open my heart to feel what you feel. And Lord, open my mouth to speak as you speak and as you start praying that prayer every day, god will change you because you'll see people in his eyes, you'll hear what he hears and you'll feel what he feels. Yes, it'll make you a cryer, because I'm a cryer. I'm gonna tell you I never was, but I'm a cryer because God cries over his people. He also rejoices over those that love him and serve him. Listen, it's so great to be back.

Speaker 1:

If you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, if you don't have any intimate relationship with him, pray this prayer after me. Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I believe that you paid the sacrifice for my sin. I believe you died on the cross, you washed me in your blood and I believe, by faith in my heart and by the confession of my mouth, I am saved In Jesus's name. If you prayed that prayer, then you ought to feel a change in your heart. Now listen, salvation is not a one time thing. You know, salvation starts today, if you prayed that prayer.

Speaker 1:

But salvation is a walk. It's an everyday walk, realizing where you failed God and you called out to him and you asked him to forgive your sins. Do I do that? Yes, I sure do. Every day I mess up and sometimes, man, I mean it's so quick, boom, it hits me and I go Lord before everybody. Lord forgive me for what I just said, lord forgive me for what I just did. And then I'll turn the person next to me and I said I'm sorry. I'm sorry I still got some of the old man in me, but forgive me what I said. Forgive me and they'll go your secret.

Speaker 1:

I had a guy tell me the other day. He said he said pastor, he said it's okay, he said I'm not gonna say anything cause I failed too. And I said it's all right. It's all right to tell people that I'm a man and I still have flesh in me. But I'm overcoming that. And to realize, when I overcome, when I do something or say something that I shouldn't, that I recognize it because of the conviction of the Holy Spirit in my heart. Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you.

Speaker 1:

Speaker 1:

You know God will provide. Whether you provided or God provides me the money to provide it myself, it's okay. But listen, when you sow into a ministry, you have a part in that ministry. So the hearts that are being reached, the people that are being reached, you have a part in that. That's gonna be one of your jewels in the day coming. And when you stand before Christ, you know that's gonna be one of your rewards. When you sow into something that is good ground and good soul, you know, then God will bless if you back with it. But so or not, it's okay, just keep listening. Keep listening, share it with your friends. God is able to do more than we ask or imagine. In Jesus's name, until next time, god bless you. It's good to be back.
