Ep 85 When "Lord, Lord" Isn't Enough

True Christianity is about knowing God intimately, not just performing religious works in His name. The relationship must be reciprocal - God already knows us completely, but we need to invest in knowing Him just as deeply.

• Scripture warns that many who prophesied, cast out demons, and performed miracles will still hear "I never knew you" (Matthew 7:21-23)
• God knows us so intimately He can identify every hair on our head by its exact position
• Biblical figures like Job, Jacob, and Moses all had face-to-face encounters with God
• Personal testimony of recovery after COVID when God sent the message "God is not through with you yet"
• Signs of having a real relationship with God include answered prayer and effective ministry
• Developing true knowledge of God requires prioritizing time with Him above distractions like social media

Ask Jesus into your heart if you haven't already. God bless you and have a blessed day.

Speaker 1:

Hey, welcome to Faith Walk, episode 85. We've been talking about knowing God and being known by God, and this morning I just kind of wanted to continue on with that thought I had another scripture here, or a couple of scriptures I wanted to read and I had mentioned this. But let's just look at it. It's Matthew, chapter 7, verse 21 through 23. It says Not everyone who says to me, lord, lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, lord, lord, lord, have we not prophesied in your name or cast out demons in your name and done many wonders and signs in your name? And then I will declare unto them I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.

Speaker 1:

You know lawlessness. What lawlessness is is being a law unto yourself, and lawlessness is just not going out and doing everything that's against the law, but being a law unto yourself, allowing things that you allow and thinking that it's it's legal in doing it, you know, and and then punishing others that don't do it like you. You know it can also be lawlessness. You know where. You're just a corrupt and a criminal. But listen, we were all corrupt and we're all criminals. Unless we know Jesus Christ, unless we trust that he paid the price in His blood for our salvation, he rose from the dead. You know, in this scripture, in Matthew, it says Not everyone who says unto me, lord, lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father. Are you doing the will of Father? Do you know what the will of the Father is? You know? Do you know what it is? How do you know the will of the Father? Well, you know it by knowing Him, by knowing Him, not knowing about Him. And I know the last few.

Speaker 1:

I've been kind of talking about this and I just believe the Lord wants me to say it. You know, you need to know him as he knows. You See, we can have a relationship. He already knows everything about us and I said it in the last one, that he knew us before we was formed in the womb. But I also want to tell you that he knows every hair on our head, the number of every hair on our head. He knows them. That's what the word of God says, and I'm not talking about, if I pull this one out, oh well, he's got so many left. No, I'm talking about God knows me so well. If I pull this one out, he says that's number 480,000. You know that's R. He says, oh, that's number two that may have been there forever. He knows every number of the hairs on your head, he knows what order they in. He don't just know you got so many, he knows every number, the exact number of that hair.

Speaker 1:

You say, well, that you know. I don't believe that. Well, that's all right. You don't have to believe that you know. You don't have to believe that Many will say to me in that day Lord, lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, done many wonders, miracles in your name? And I will declare in them I never knew you Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness. Listen, you can know God. You can believe that God does things. You can know Him, know His Word, and not yet know Him. You can do the works of the ministry, the works that he says to do, and not know Him. You have to know Him.

Speaker 1:

We talked about Job and how Job knew of him but didn't know him. We talked about Jacob, and how Jacob wrestled with God to get a blessing and saw him face to face. Moses saw him face to face. Isn't it time you see God face to face? Isn't it time you meet with God face to face? Isn't it that you get a relationship with God, like you would have maybe say with your father? Oh, I'm going to, I'm going to visit my father. What am I going to do? I'm going to go face to face and talk with him, or my mother, or or you know a relationship with your wife face to face. You know her, you know just about everything, everything about her, and she knows everything about you. That's the kind of relationship God wants to have with you. He wants to have a relationship where you know him as well as he knows you. You know he wants you to know him. He speaks to us, he talks to us. He talks through the, the word. He talks to the inspiration of the holy spirit. He talks, uh, through other people that share and come up and tell you. They may tell you things.

Speaker 1:

You know, a few years ago, man, I thought I was done, I thought I was over, I had that covet and after it, and I just was going through a rough time and it had been, you know, close to two years. And having a rough time and a lady at the church came and she had wrote down on a piece of scratch paper, tore it off of her notebook paper and handed it to me. She said God said to tell you me. And and my wife said God to tell God, that said to tell you this. And she handed me the note and the note said God is not through with you yet. And I just kind of giggled. I said well, it sure feels like it.

Speaker 1:

You know, at that point in my time in my life I felt like God was done with me. But then let me tell you something. Then I prayed about joining a new church and we joined a church and God set us in that place and let me tell you, I began growing, I began thriving, I began living, I began to come out of the dark days of health concerns that I had. I mean, god moved and he started turning things around and he started showing me things and I got excited about the Word of God again. You know, when I had COVID, I couldn't even remember one single Scripture in the Word of God, couldn't remember a Scripture Couldn't think about, I couldn't, even had no desire to read it. I'd pick up the Bible and I just didn't understand it. I just set it back down. Let me tell you, god restored all of that. Thank God, praise God. He knew what I was going through, though, because he knew me and I knew him and I knew he would bring me out on the other side.

Speaker 1:

You see, you got to know him in the small things, in the small trials of your life. When you start following God, you need to trust Him. You need to trust Him for things that you're seeking for and that you need. You need to pray, you need to ask. You need to spend more time in His Word and in His presence than you do on the phone, on social media. That's hard to do nowadays for people, you know, because you can't even watch a 10-minute video. You got two minutes and whoop, you're gone. Two minutes and whoop, you're gone. You know you need to slow down and you need to learn of God and you need to learn the things of God, and that only comes by you spending time with Him and receiving the revelations of His Word through the Holy Spirit as you study His Word. If you don't understand something, you can ask Him and he will show you. He will lead you. He will lead you, in the Word of God, to where you need to go to learn of Him.

Speaker 1:

Man, I tell you it's an honor and a privilege to serve God. It's an honor and privilege to know Him. It's an honor and privilege to know be known by Him. It's an honor and privilege to know be known by Him, known by Him. You know you're known by Him if, when you pray, he answers, you know you're known by Him. If he says, go pray for somebody and you pray for them and they get well, you know you're known by Him. If God says, go talk to that guy and share me, and you go and you share Jesus with them and they accept Him as Lord and Savior and they come to know Him, you know God hears you.

Speaker 1:

Now, how do you know that's exactly how I know that God hears me. How do you know that he hears you? These are questions you need to ask yourself. Does God know me? And the answer to that is yes. He's known you before you was born in the womb, formed in the womb. But do I know God like he knows me? Something to think about Until next time. God bless you have a blessed day. Ask Jesus into your heart if you have it. Amen.
